The BAU has been called at the rural area of Oklahoma when a serial killers starts to torture and murder some women. At the same point of time, Reid has been treating Prentiss and JJ while deliberately disregarding as he was putting in efforts for dealing with the deception regarding the fake death of Prentiss. The case is regarding the abduction of two attractive and blonde women, brutally murdered and blinded with acid in Durrant, rural Oklahoma. From the initial site, it appears as if the victims of the UnSub are being targeted specifically on sight. However, the killer ends up escalating the team that he is obsessed with the denial of these women from any one of the five senses. As the BAU continuously faces significant failure in identifying the criminal profile, the UnSub considers making a bold move, kidnapping the 17 year old daughter of the head of BAU, a women, under his obsession since the years of 1980s.
In context with the social control theory, the beliefs, norms, values, commitments and relationships of people end up encouraging them for the breakage of law (Mariotte 57). Thus, if there is internalization of moral codes and tie up of individuals for having stake across the wide community, there is voluntary limitation on the propensity for committing the act of defiance. The theory provides scope for understanding the possibility ways available for BAU in reducing the chances of murder from the UnSub. On the other hand, considering the perspective of anomie theory, there is a reflection about the sense of normlessness, the absence of social norms spurring the tendency for acting with defiance.When considered generally, this presents the overall scenario of industrialization and the labor requirement in current modern society (Hagan 72). This further enhances the propensity of individuals for committing crime in order to look for an environment with stability.
