It is recommended for the managers of organizations ranging from SME to large corporations that senior management is made aware of the perception and personality theories central to the organizational behaviour in order to ensure that the right perception is formed in related to the associated personality (Chiu et al., 2017). The two set of strategies can be followed by the managers of organizations after the identification of the type A and type B employees (Cantor and Kihlstrom, 2017). Following are the strategies elaborated that can enable the manager to function with the team members in an effective manner:
The type A employees can be recognized by their ability to work longer with high quality under tight deadlines. The managers can recognize these employees clearly due to their satisfaction with high work flow (Bos‐Nehles et al., 2013). Hence, the motivating job designs, rewards and recognition along with continuous feedback can be delivered to ensure that the type A employees are developed and contributes to support the type B employees which will provide them with more autonomy.
The type B employees can be recognized from their laid back attitudes and relaxed working styles. Hence, more stringent practices such as regular quality checks will be required to ensure that the minimum quality is met and the improvisations are made (Benoliel and Somech, 2014). This category of employees will require more support from the managers due to which availability and prompt peer support will enhance their performance levels. In addition, this perception will allow the managers to remain engaged with the type B employees in order to convert them into type A employees through continuous feedback, gradual authority and autonomy.
It can be concluded that this essay describes the appropriate theories of perception and personality to establish that the managers can not only experience increased effectiveness with the staff with its understanding, but also achieve high performance levels (Alfes et al., 2013).
