Wellington Central Library stands as a testimony of perseverance. The settlers faced huge struggles due to the inadequate space and poor possibilities to reach people for resources and support. It happened to be a reopened library in 1877 at Athenaeum. With all the amenities, it got ready to host the public with its range of books and support from local bodies. By 1893, Wellington City Council showed immense support to this organization and decided to fund them. At that stage, Thomas William Rowe was set as the librarian of city. He took the effort to open this building and stock it with necessary books for the usage by public (Lianza, 2006).
