The positive difference made by the way in which the case was handled was that there should have been a continuous and open communication with the consumers and the dealers by which continuous responses were received from the consumers and accordingly the steps would have been taken to improve the product. The case could be dealt in a more sensitive manner by being proactive and by taking appropriate actions as and when the problem aroused (Steiner, 2012). The organization is a part of society made of consumers and vendors etc., so it should not be forgotten by the company that it is not working in isolation and they are answerable to the consumers so they should keep their public relations department very effective. The basic role of any PR manager is to act as a communication channel between the company and the public. The problem if dealt in the initial stages with effective measures, then it would not have harmed the public image of the company, in turn the effectives of the company in dealing with the problems would have been appraised by the public(Gruning, 1984). The public relation practices of the company were not effective. The lesson this case provides is that the problem as and when arises should be dealt effectively otherwise it can lead to harmful effects as it did in this case by damaging the public image of the company at global front by two college girls. It should not be forgotten that the wound medicated at early stages won’t turn into serious problems same is the case with the organizational problems. Other companies can easily protect themselves from such kind of situations by making strategies to deal with different kind of problems. The effective public relations officer can be an added advantage to improve the image of the company by effectively practicing the strategies formed for the benefit of the company.
