To the first participant, leadership is all about motivating. He believes that his boss doesn’t deserve to be a leader since he de-motivates his employees. De-motivation plays a very vital role in the performance of a worker since the feeling reduces his eagerness to work. Also he holds the belief that leader should encourage his workers for their creativity. For him, leadership is not such type of thing that one can practice and learn. He believes that a leader is born. All his skills are inborn in him and only then he can be a good leader. Transformational leadership also states that leader should motivate his subordinates and also inspire him. Moreover it is stated that leader should encourage the creativity of his workers and give them tasks which enhance their creativity skills.
The second participant believes that leadership is motivating subordinates, assisting them and making everyone is a part of decisions. He believes that one the workers are given the privilege to be a part of decision making then their level of efficiency increases since they believe that they are being given some importance. They don’t like to work only on the orders of their bosses and not being a part of the organization’s decisions. He believes that leadership qualities can be learned. Democratic leadership style refers to such type of leadership in which decisions are taken by the consent of all.
The third participant believes that for good leadership it is necessary to appreciate the workers and give them opportunities that can develop their creativity. Also he believes that encouragement is necessary as the person feels motivated by the encouragement. He believes that leadership is inborn and also its traits can be learned. Motivating employees, appreciating employees can be learned but dominancy is a trait that is in born and that helps a person to be a good leader in certain circumstances. Transformational leadership calls for the leader to be creative and give subordinates challenges that develop their creativity. Motivating employees is also a significant trait of transformational leadership.
