There was a shift in paradigm that is observed in the Mediterranean diet (Bach-Faig, et al 2276). These can include the nutritional and metabolic disorders that increases in the industrial production. There is rise in the unhealthy eating practices of the people. In addition, these include higher consumption of the saturated fats and the use of refined carbohydrates. There is lower consumption of the fiber and increase in sedentary behavior of the people. That leads to chronic conditions development. There is also a change in the protein content that is observed by the people. Furthermore, these are detrimental to the vegetable proteins. The dietary diversity is based on the nutrient composition of the food between the varieties of food that differ dramatically. This has changed in the current schema of events.
From this, it can be eluded that the Mediterranean diet is a healthy diet. It enables the people to gain access to all the dietary variables without being impacted in the process. There is an innate need for the people to ensure that they eat healthy in order to have a proper quality of life. Given the globalization in the current times and the rising trends of fast foods, the people are shifting from healthier foods options.
There is higher trans-fat and saturated fat in the food palette of the people. These need to be changed.
The people need to shift ideology from the current options to a healthier option.
The Mediterranean diet ensures that the people can live healthier lifestyle by consuming these foods. This is one of the most important factors that need to be contemplated in this paradigm.
