The results indicated that childhood trauma would lead to issues of somatization in later stages where the child would feel insecure. A fully mediated ink was found between childhood attachment issues and adult relationship issues for the women. In the case of the men, although a fully mediating link is not found, there is evidence to indicate that some form of influence exists. The analysis methods used in the research is quite limited. Using more existing studies to draw a critical analysis would have been more helpful here. The research of Bifluco et al (2006) presented earlier in this paper showed that there was a partial mediating influence, when it came to women, this childhood experiences of attachment with parents and later relationship effects. Such form studies which might question the validity of this study should have been used to make the research discussions more critical in nature.
The researchers conclude that trauma as child and adult somatizations are more pronounced in the case of women and there are predictors implying the mediating effect in men. This research showed that childhood and the early attachment experience could be used by medical sector to help adults suffering in their relationships. All the three research studies that have been selected are empirical in nature. They are primary research studies which were selected with specific inclusion criteria. The research indicates that healthy childhood attachment styles or the lack of it will have a definite impact on adult relationships. Some of the studies show a more direct and absolute impact and others suggest the impact would result in anxiety conditions and could destroy the adult’s quality of life which in turn will impact their relationships.
