It can be stated with certainty that nature plays an integral role in the development of the child. According to these researchers, the children developmental and genuine connections with nature when they are allowed to play. They are even able to overcome any cognitive developmental issues. This is found to be important in all stages of the child to adult development. It plays a more prominent role when the children more than adolescent youths allowed playing (Barnett & Weber, 2008). It has been stated that the people in general are able to have a higher quality of life when they are allowed to interact with nature.
In the case of children, it is found that they are able to forge genuine connections with nature. This enables the children to overcome any mental stresses or anxiety. There is a more holistic and positive development when the children are allowed to play. The game play and the interaction with nature is found to be different based on the kind of recreational activity. There are four kinds of recreational activities, it is the individual game, team games, performing and working for the communities (Barnett & Weber, 2008). The kinds of activity that the child plays is important in determined the kind of development that is expected of the children. Team games enabled children to have more social skills while performing skills enabled in instilling confidence in the child for future growth and development (Barnett& Weber, 2008). Each kind of recreational activity for the child enabled the child to gain a particular trait that would be useful for them to become a valued member of the community or the society. The mother or the primary guardians made a decision about a particular play based on the time, resources, place and the social structure along with the infrastructure of a place.
