I believe that there is nothing to fear than fear itself. One should not fear to fear because fear is natural. I am an insomniac. I have experienced the effects of insomnia many times. I usually have to put on a meditation tape, or will have to listen to some music, or sometimes even take a sleeping aid in order to sleep. When I have a normal day, when I sleep, I usually sleep off in a couple of hours. This is not the normal sleep pattern. People usually sleep within minutes, maybe less than an hour. I usually take a couple of hours before I can even doze off. When I have a day of really bad insomnia, I might end up staying awake till even early morning. I remember days when I have stayed awake till my alarm clock rings. These days, when I know I am going to have a bad night, I stay up reading a book or get my school work done and rest later.
Insomnia makes people irritation. People need to sleep in order to have some energy and when they do not sleep, they feel irritated. They might be low on energy and this could make them easily irritable. They might get angry easily and could have very poor impulse control. They will feel sleepy during the day time. They will lose focus and attention and could have a very foggy and moody way of thinking. This could last till they manage to get some sleep.
Insomnia needs medical help as it not only results in irritation and anxiety, but it could make a person suffer adverse health conditions.
