The purpose of the evaluation was fulfilled when the findings revealed that project elements (both management and treatment wise) such as the ambulatory care, triage, patient flow improvement, and better medication routines were established for the patients. Training led to the improvement of staff interaction with patients and the extension of these better effects was also noted in the way family and carers interacted with patients. Furthermore, the patients themselves became more aware of the options available to them. The Bamras hospital was also equipped so as to pass on these project components to other hospitals and training teams. Overall the evaluation was satisfactory, and Australia’s Aid Program AusAID was satisfied with the endeavor. Evaluation revealed some issues in the context of initial misunderstandings that happened because of the different people in the project misinterpreting their roles and accountabilities. However this issue was handled. The report states that senior medical staff were not involved in the project and that the initial misunderstandings could have been handled better if the senior medical staff were also included in the initial stages.
The clarity of the purpose of evaluation is discussed here. The evaluation report has to clearly states its purpose and then expand upon the purpose as a roadmap. The purpose of a research forms the basis for the research objective and at every point of the research document will need to be expanded upon (Creswell, 2013). The purpose of evaluation has been presented clearly. A separate section has been presented in the report in the executive summary where each of the elements being evaluated for are discussed in detail, there are five elements in total. Each of these elements is then discussed as separate chapters where a more comprehensive evaluation has been carried out. Primarily the appropriateness of objectives and design has been considered. Ambulatory care is one that will help the patient in being mobile. It will make the HIV patient be aware of all options available to them. In order to do so, various divisions of the Bamras Hospital in Bangkok need to be trained, and this hence forms a core requisite for evaluation. Only when objectives and goals are stated clearly, then the final results can be checked for conformance.
