The other main motive behind the Xinhai revolution for restoring Chinese rule for the majority of Han or the supporters of Republic of China after long sufferings faced for centuries under Manchu rule. The political base that supported the Xinhai revolution were the three principles of the people i.e. nationalism, democracy and socialism. The serious corruption that was in the deep roots of the Qing dynasty was one of the major causes of the Xinhai revolution. High officials of the government received gifts from the low rank officials of the then government of China. With this emerged the trend of using the money of government by the low rank officers of the Chinese government. Thus it led to the imposition of heavy taxes and duties being imposed on the common people and that suffered them economically. For increasing the income of the government the court of Qing started selling the government posts for fulfilling the demands aroused due to lack of money to support the activities of putting down the rebellions and for meeting the expenses of the government (Khoo, 2008). As a result of sale of government posts for money the major positions were acquired by people and after sitting on seats of government officials they started squeezing money from the common people in every possible way they can and as much as they can.
