The new Iranian laws as explained in “Reading Lolita in Tehran” impose restrictions which lead to curbing of growth and learning and is not liked by Nafisi, the main character in the novel. Throughout the book, Nafisi tries to explain what makes a hero and what makes a villain in literature. The black world of Iran jail has been explained and explored in the process wherein people in power are blind to other’s problems. It is important that we take responsibility of problems and work towards bringing change. Thesis statement: It becomes essential that motivation is built in order to adapt to change or bring in change in times of adversity. Only then it becomes possible to build a better world for ourselves wherein ourselves can be discovered and improved (Mahnaz Kousha, 2002).Love of learning and a positive mindset is extremely essential for developing intelligence.

If this cannot be built, it would result in curbing of intelligence and lead to forming average minds. It becomes essential to focus on developing freedom to learn and a suitable environment for learning. In countries where undue restrictions are imposed on people and they are curbed from learning, it is difficult to ensure that intelligence can be promoted. It results in events wherein people do not enjoy freedom and also have to face oppression and problems (Carol S. Dweck, 2008).The readings explain that students can become better writers if they are given multiple opportunities to write. This can help them throughout their education and also help them build intelligence. If students develop a fixed mindset and limit their learning, it would result in problems including lack of opportunity and lack of confidence (Mitra Rastegar, 2006). Rebel and lack of motivation can prove to be really harmful to the society. Habit of mind is extremely important and essential for success. It is important that there be better levels of curiosity, openness and creativity in order to foster higher levels of learning.
