The horizontal and vertical approaches seek to achieve one common agenda- attainment of goals and objectives which are in line with the organisation. Allianz as a company tries to maintain a hierarchical order in terms of top down approach where the top level management is strongest in terms of power and ability to make decisions in a timely manner as per the situational needs. These aspects are being transferred to the middle. The ground level executives are through their respective managers and departmental heads. However, it is equally important to maintain a horizontal umbrella like approach so that the practical issues and concerns are brought to notice and every employee can provide constructive inputs for the strategic development of the organisation.
Communication strategies and compensation strategies are important aspects of business strategies which are directly linked to HRM strategies. The communication of vital information is needed for efficient delivery of various services across the large customer base. The compensation packages and strategies given to individual employees help them to regain their morale and positivity. It is done through effective HR policies (Boselie, 2010).The flow of information could follow a top down approach. Here the information, suggestions, or updates are given out by the top level management and travels to the ground level executives in a hierarchical manner through their immediate boss and managers. At the same time, any suggestions, problems, and concerns are being discussed in a bottom up manner and sent to the appropriate level of management as per their importance and seriousness. Nevertheless, in some situations, a horizontal approach of integration is followed for communication. Here hierarchical divisions are weak and the employees are managed at the same level. The communication is informal. Everyone works as a team to achieve short and long term goals (Dyer and Reeves, 1995).
